Our Father in heaven who knows the ones He loves with a perfect love, be with me in such a way that I feel Your closeness in the days as they unfold before me. Teach my heart something joyously new as You grant me the pleasure of new perspective on old problems that have lingered far too long. Forgive my obtuseness in learning the lessons You set before me, Lord. Help me, my God, to revel in Your word, to explore the depths of prayer and to expose the woundedness of my own soul to You because You are my tender healer. Fill the hollow in me with gratitude, Jesus, so that I can radiate Your light, beauty and truth as I serve You in and out of Your church. Let me love more because You have loved me. Let me give grace abundantly because You have been gracious to me. Let me forgive enormously because You have forgiven me. Let me rejoice continually because You have claimed me as Your own. Under the beautiful, life-giving promise of 1 Peter 4:10-11 and the authority of Christ Jesus, my one and only Savior, I set these prayers upon the altar of the King.
