Today’s Prayer

Blessed be Your great name in all the universe, O God Almighty. Come near to the heart of Your beloved when I am in the midst of a storm of confusing emotions. Lord, enable me to take my thoughts captive to You through Your word and abiding presence. Make me settle into the calmness which comes with focus on You, who You are and what You can do. For my heart rejoices that You are able, Jesus. You are able to take away all pain, able to heal the hurt, able to minister to the offense, able to forgive and able to move Your beloved in the direction of Your ultimate will. To my heart’s questions, grant me the answers which I seek, Jesus, in order that my soul may remain protected as I follow Your lead. Shield me with the umbrella of truth so that the enemy’s hailstones of deceptive emotions do not override Your Spirit’s promptings inside of me. Lord, blow away the clouds of confusion as You bring a new sunrise of glorious clarity and intimacy with You which I have never before realized. Grant me tangible assurance that I am not alone in this current desert season, Father, as You lead me to an oasis of beautiful grace. Under the blossoming word of Isaiah 35:1-4 and the authority of Christ Jesus, these prayers are an offering to my God.

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;
    the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus;
it shall blossom abundantly
    and rejoice with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
    the majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the Lord,
    the majesty of our God.

Strengthen the weak hands,
    and make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who have an anxious heart,
    “Be strong; fear not!
Behold, your God
    will come with vengeance,
with the recompense of God.
    He will come and save you.”
Isaiah 35:1-4, ESV
