Father of all sustenance, let me come to You with my emptiness. My hungry heart cries for the living bread that only You can offer. My tired spirit searches relentlessly for the secret place of Your presence where I can find rest. You are my soul satisfaction. You are the answer to my heart’s unanswered longings. Jesus, minister to the hunger within me through the lavish banquet of love Your cross has set before me. I look to Your Spirit for my source of spiritual gladness and abundant growth. The restlessness of the frets and failures of my heart only arise during the persistent distractions that cause a famine of spiritual nourishment gleaned from Your Word. Remove the distractions in my heart and mind so that I am fully Yours as I come before Your holy text. Satisfy my empty with the filling of Your Spirit, Lord God. Teach me to abide in You, Jesus. Under the mighty Word of John 15:4 and the authority of the blood of Christ, I pray.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself,
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you,
unless you abide in me.
John 15:4, ESV
