When I am distressed, I delight to call upon You, God of my weary heart. You restore me. You replenish me in Your presence. From the deep, You listen to my cries. You know the worries that weigh me down. You draw me into the depth of Your heart until the pain subsides and the healing begins. Though the currents of controversy wash over me, You fix my perspective on eternity’s horizon. Though the waves of adversity knock me down, You keep me afloat with Your mighty presence. Though the breakers of condemnation threaten my little faith, You assure me in the myriad of blessings that come in unexpected ways. Open my eyes to see, O Lord. Let me not be blinded by selfish inclination. My soul is rest assured because my heart is kept alive in the tender hands of Christ.
