Today’s Prayer

I come to You, my Sovereign King, with the recesses of my heart utterly exposed. I rest my vulnerabilities in the safety of Your gracious love. I lay down my soul, surrendering all that I am upon Your altar of mercy. Jesus, engulf me in Your presence. Surround me with the rush of angel’s wings. Send me a sign. Grant me a holy hint. Whisper my name in such a way that my weary heart is comforted because You come for me. With gratitude that floods the desert of my being, may hope blossom in a fragrant display of holy living that glorifies my King. Let my soul not be troubled because I am soothed by Your touch, calmed by Your voice and saved by Your cross. All is well because I am Yours. Under the mighty comfort of Psalm 42:11 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
Psalm 42:11, NIV
