Today’s Prayer

My Sovereign Lord, birth Your Holy Word to life inside of me. Chase away the propensity for negligence of truth which lingers within me, scars from the deafness of my soul before You found me, Jesus. Far too many distractions captivate me because old habits need to be continually slayed. Make me into a warrior of truth even though I come to You as an unprofitable and apathetic soldier. My soul bows in gratitude for Your mercy, God. Who am I that You should call me to partake of Your worthiness? That I should march beneath the banner of divine love and raise a sword for Your great Name is the power of grace manifested through me. Do not let me forsake such an honor, Lord. Cover my imperfections with the sacrificial blood of Your Son, God. In such grace I can lift my shield of faith and find protection against vain, distracting thoughts because I wear the helmet of salvation given me in the Sprit. Only You have the power to fit me for the fight with shoes that proclaim the gospel with every step I take. Lead me, my great Commander, along this battlefield of life until I attain the end of the temporal journey where I can disarm myself and lay aside the armor so graciously given me. In that day, I will at last enter the Kingdom of rest. Under the mighty Word of the Lord in Ephesians 6:13 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13, WEB
