My blessed Savior, I cannot endure walking contrary to You. Have I really turned my back on You? I abhor the sins that keep me separated from You. My heart is restless beneath the irreconcilable differences of flesh and spirit. Let me not live contentedly without Your daily presence. Let not grow accustomed to following my heart’s desires because they inevitably lead me away from You one rebellious step at a time. My soul is grieved by the ebbing of my love for You, Lord. Where it once flourished and thrived, it has now become less than intense. So I come to You, knowing You can restore what once was. You can pull me off the path of apathy and into the road of devotion that is authentic and everlasting. I sorrow over the hardness of my heart, Lord. Bring me back to the place where You first showed me salvation’s joy. Quicken my impenetrable, insensible spirit so that I am filled with the tenderness of divine love and every thought is once again conformed to Your will. Under the blessed Word of truth found in Romans 12:2 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2, ESV

AMEN
