Breathe into me the holiness and peace that sustains the weary. You are my God and there is no other. Guide my ways in a new direction which will mark this life with footprints of faith. Lord Jesus, I cannot help but adore Your steadfast love which remains an anchor in every storm. My trifling heart is so often tempted to betray You by not following Your commands. Let me give somber attention to the Word You have given. If you love Me, you will obey My commands. Only the foolish heart desires to argue that point. Save me from myself, Jesus. Corruption lingers like a deadly virus whose only cure is divine love. The treachery of my thinking needs to be brought beneath the canopy of Your Word. Let my mind be fixed on truth, not lies. I no longer want to flutter around between worldly comfort and spiritual ideas. I want to be fully committed and wholly Yours. I want to choose You because You first chose me. Wherever I remain undecided in my life, Lord Jesus, reveal this discrepancy. I do not wish to gain the world and lose my soul. I wish only to commit my heart and soul to loving You. Let these prayers fall beneath the authority of Christ Jesus and the blessing of the Word found in Mark 8:35-37.

 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for My sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? For what will a man give in exchange for his life?
