Lord, let my heart be sweetened in supplication even though my soul wounds are salted in sorrow. Cleansing tears are those that spring from the well of salvation when the bucket of adversity drops deep into the soul. There is no bitter cup that You have not already tasted, Lord Jesus. Truly, in the intimate moments of prayer, Your heart reveals the escape from the labyrinth of lament. I dare not overrate my affliction, knowing what You willingly endured on the cross. Though I err toward a dramatic interpretation of events in my life, it is the life You lived that truly gives me perspective. Meet me in the bewilderment of this current trial because I know that all things sifted through Your fingers are for good. Lift the negative veil that shadows the eyes of Your beloved, Lord. There are troubles which I have been spared and woes that have been divinely redirected. Gratitude for Your unrealized mercies potently eclipses the darkness of present calamity with light from above. Lift Your servant upon the rock, Lord Jesus, even if I feel crushed by the thoughts my deceitful heart encourages. There is comfort in Your presence. There is peace in Your presence. No bodily or mental misery is too hard for Your to overcome by grace. How perfect is Your power, Lord. How generous is Your love. Your Word is tender consolation. I thank You for the sympathies tucked within the folds of Your salvation. Whatever my tribulation, Lord Jesus, I find solace that You are in the flames with me. I look upon my trouble with an eye made keener through divine perspective. May I judge these time according to truth that is the only standard which can control the tempest of emotion swirling within me. Under the blessed assurance of the Holy Word in Psalm 16:11 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

You will show me the path of life. In Your presence is fullness of joy. In Your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
