Today’s Prayer

Let me not fall into the shadows of the world’s imaginative interpretations and waste time justifying them instead of turning to the light of truth. Your Word is truth, Lord Jesus. Keep my mind content within the boundaries of simplicity. Too often seeking to be justified, people twist Your Word in a way that it was never intended to be used. A foundation of crooked support is bound to crumble. To many a professing heart You are merely a great human teacher who imparted words of wisdom. My own heart testifies that You are the Savior of my soul, Lord Jesus. Your presence is divine, filling the space between us with grace and truth. Who but You could have done for me what I could not do for myself? You subdued the stubborn rebelliousness of a wicked heart, opened the prison doors, and demolished the shackles holding me captive to carnal desires. Mourning was transformed by laughter and desolation became joy within the garden of salvation. Let others think what they will, but I know Whom I serve and bow down to. Even when I struggled against the tide of grace, You rescued my flailing soul. Before Your mercy seat, I drip with repentant solace, my fears having been mastered by Your compassion. Of all Your promises, not one has failed, Lord Jesus. You are my life and my purpose. Let me not waste time chasing shadows of understanding when all I need to know is that I am Yours. Under the blessed assurance of truth set down in Isaiah 43:1 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

But now Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and He who formed you, Israel, says: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are Mine.
Isaiah 43:1, WEB
