Today’s Prayer

Lord, I pray to You, releasing my heart and soul to Your Lordship. May the pervasive deception of this world not dilute the intensity of my love for You. Keep holiness and its accompanying desires on the horizon of my day. Chase away the corruption of selfish desire with the purity of Your Word. Jesus, it is Your work on the cross that offers perfection to the one bowing at the foot of it. Rejoice, my soul, for a day fast approaches when the lusts of evil imaginations will cease to reign. God shall finish the work He has begun. Father, take my soul and make it what You designed it to be. Through the power of the Spirit, remove every spot of blemish until Your child is made perfect in Christ. Let the pervasive holiness of God light up the dark places of the heart. For though I have been a wretched rebel in my sin, You will rid my existence of sin and death. No evil will corrupt my ears with diluting deception. No unholy thoughts will distract me from the peace I have in my Savior. Let that blessed day be hastened. When the sanctifying process is finished by the final stroke of Your hand, then I shall be perfected in Christ and able to cross into the eternal bliss I have longed for. Until such a day, I do not clamor for perfection nor strive for it. I only submit to the work of Your hands, Lord Jesus, daily bowing before Your heart and walking in the path You have marked for me. Under the canopy of the Holy Word of God in Philippians 1:6 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6, ESV
