Today’s Prayer

Everlasting Redeemer, arouse in my heart a grateful spirit. You have accomplished the impossible by Your desire to reconcile the lost to Yourself. You are the One to whom the sacrifice is given and the One who provided it upon the altar of the cross. The rain of the Spirit doused the fires of divine wrath with drops of holy love. Kindle the hearts of Your people to remember and be moved in the depths of their soul. As blood flows from the cross, a river of peace is opened up before us. When the enemy arrows fly in battle, it is the shield of faith in You that captures those fiery spears, rendering them impotent. Subdue the antagonism, Lord, before it distracts from the truth. Whatever burning lusts and fiery passions are stirred by evil, let them be put asunder by Your holy presence in my daily maneuvering. Begin a new song in me, Lord. Let the lyrics of my life be Your praise. Your Name is my soul’s fulfillment. Your truth vibrates on my lips to Your glory. There is nothing else to speak of except all You have done. Your works are completed, Lord God Almighty. They are wonderful to behold. Let my soul be marked by gratefulness. Let my heart beat forever with gratitude because you said it is finished. Under the blessed assurance of truth set down in Psalm 40:5 and the authority of my Savior, Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

Many, Yahweh, my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to You. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.
Psalm 40:5, WEB
