In the division of the first day there was light and there was darkness. It should come as no surprise when the circumstances of life come to such a crossroads. I loathe my pressing expectations of the blazing light of prosperity when the clouded shadows of adversity fall upon the landscape of life. Such expectation only injures faith. You are with me in the darkness as much, if not more, as You are with me in the light. Let me not grieve my former joys, Lord. My soul should experience mourning as well as gladness because this world is not as it should be. Is not the song of life made richer when the lyrics are mingled with captivity and freedom, trial and deliverance? Such is the arrangement upon this path to eternity. There will be pockets of light as well as thickets of shadow. Soul, be content with this divine road. Be willing to receive hardship from the Lord as well as blessing. In all things, His will is for Your good. I will praise You, Lord, for the sunlight as well as the cloud cover. Open my eyes of faith to see beauty in the sunrise and magnificence in the sunset. During a season of sorrow, seeds of divine grace are planted deep. Amid the darkness of lamentable times, the stars of Your promises shine brighter. Let every season have its run until the fullness of time is complete. For one day there will be no more darkness. The Lord Himself will light the Kingdom I call home. Under the blessed assurance of Revelation 21:23 and the authority of my risen Savior, Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
Revelation 21:23, ESV

LET THY WORD SHIN FOR A PATH TO MY FEET, LET YOUR LIGHT SHIN IN ME.
