Lord God Almighty, You have raised me to new life in my beloved Savior. Keep me ever mindful of that in this new year. Set my sights on eternal horizons when the dark clouds of worldly prospects taint my daily view. Make it my goal to glorify You in speech and deed no matter what circumstances tempt me not to. Whatever carnal desires linger within me Lord, I invite You to slay by the Spirit. Rid me of unholy shadows lurking within my soul. Shadows in the shape of immorality, selfishness, vanity, and pride just to name a few. Turn my eyes off of worshiping those things that belong to this temporary world. When love fills my heart, there is no room for anger, malice, greed, or impurity. Remind me to daily dress in the new nature granted me in Christ. You have stripped off my sinful desires Lord Jesus, so that I can offer You the best version of myself, a version that represents Your likeness and not my own. Clothe my heart with tender mercy, gentleness, and patience in this hurried world. Bathe my soul in kindness and humility despite the crass pressure to achieve and succeed. Only by Your Spirit can I make allowance for the faults of others by not being easily offended. You forgave me so that I could forgive others. Bind me to Your love perpetually, Jesus. Truly, You have raised me to new life. Inspire me to live for You. Under the Word of truth in Colossians 3:2-4 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.

 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
