Today’s Prayer

Lord, remind me daily that we are never out of temptation’s reach. Snares have been set in the most unusual places. Keep me aware lest I step where Your Spirit has not guided me. Wherever this day takes me, I am in danger of meeting with the allotments of the enemy. The sun may rise on perilous concerns and with its setting I may find myself in further jeopardy of solving my new problems without consulting You. Let me not enter into any day unarmed by the gospel. Truly, sin’s armor bearer is self-confidence, a faulty belief that I don’t need Your help. My heart, Lord, is like a tinder box of iniquity. It is far too easily sparked by temptations You already expected. Douse me with the water of devoted diligence so that any unwarranted blaze is prevented. My own corruption is enough to bring about my ruin. Thank You, Lord, that Your grace is sufficient. Keep Your beloved from evil. Under the solid foundation of Your Word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer filled with gratitude.

No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
1 Corinthians 10:13, AMP
