Today’s Prayer

Lead me away from idleness and laxity, Lord. May the waters of faith not grow stagnant but be continually stirred up by Your Spirit. Water that does not move becomes noxious. The garden of neglected souls become a dense tangle of weeds and thorny briers. Keep me from sluggish knees that never stand to serve Your Kingdom purposes. Let weariness not get the better of me when my best intentions belong to You. Inspire movement through the indwelling of Your Spirit. And when You call me to rest, let it not be idle in its experience, but profitable for instruction of divine solitude. The private rendezvous of prayer are meant to nourish my soul as something not to take for granted nor lean into in an over abundance without Your invitation. Prevent me from using spiritual disciplines as blinding excuses for what You really want me to be doing, Lord. Distractions are plenty in this world. May I not be so bombarded by them that I fail to see clearly the path Your will has set before me. I thank You for the gifts of service and the balance of rest. Keep me where You want me to be, Lord Jesus. Under the blessing of Your Word set down in Isaiah 35:2-3 and the authority of Christ I pray.

They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty and splendor of our God.
Encourage the exhausted, and make staggering knees firm.
Isaiah 35:2-3, AMP
