Let me praise the one true God, the Maker of heaven and earth. You alone are worthy Lord. Awaken the land with sun that scatters light within the darkness of my heart. Your mercy rules with sovereign authority over the seasons of my soul. Teach me to practice morning and evening Hallelujahs. Winter and Summer Amens. Swathe my mind in a perpetual state of gratitude as I bring my praise to the altar morning and evening. It is Your Word that brightens the heart and calms the anxiety of stormy circumstances. Your truth and love lightens burdensome toil and softens sorrows. Shed a sanctifying radiance over earthly pleasure, Lord. Make me less susceptible to its constant glare and relentless temptation. You are far greater than all that this world has to offer. Holy is the One who can weave a melody from my past sorrows and present joys. Great is the King who considers my former deliverance in regard to future hope. Stir up Your beloved at the opening of the day with sweet praise as pure as sunshine. And let a lullaby of gratitude sing my soul to slumber when evening fades and I reflect on Your blessings. Lengthen the hours in which I show my devotion. Under the blessed assurance of Psalm 1:1-2 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
