Grateful for the shield of Your unending love, I take refuge in You, Lord God Almighty. Glory belongs to You because You alone can lift up my head. So I set my prayers aloft like incense, knowing that even in their vaporous form they will reach the ears of the One who answers. May my heart not slumber when the trumpet calls. Rouse me with Your manifest presence. In my weakness, You sustain me. Though the enemies surround me and adversity hunts me like prey, You are my defense. Gladly I wear the armor You have given me. Protect my thoughts from unnecessary worry as I place the helmet of salvation on my head. Let truth be the core that does not cave in to deceit. Lead me step by step down the path of peace. Knit the loose threads of my heart with joy. Relief is Yours to give when distress overwhelms me. Keep me far from the pursuing lies, Lord. Let my honor not be turned to shame. I am grateful for Your eternal shield. Under the blessed canopy of truth set down in Ephesians 6:10-11 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
