Lord, lead me forth into the fields of prayer, meditation, study, and abiding in Your Word. Let me gather the spiritual food available from such harvests. Nourish my soul with the plenty even as You shape it with the famine. As I gather the ordained portion little by little, let me be content to search for morsels of truth and crumbs of application during times of drought. Each tidbit of truth, every morsel of prayer, when put together becomes a feast to replenish the weary. Keep my eyes open and my heart available, so that I am equipped to glean in the most unlikely field. You are the omnipresent one. There is no famine of Your nearness, only of my perception, Lord. Keep me watchful regarding religious habits lest my tendencies harden the heart and render lessons unprofitable. Replace hardness with humility that keeps me teachable. Let me glean with great diligence and holy anticipation. Only You can keep me hungry for Your Word and thirsting for Your presence. I delight to meet You in the field of prayer, Lord. The harvest is ripe for You are always planting. Under the counsel of Your Word found in Isaiah 60:20-21 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
Your sun will not go down any more,
nor will your moon withdraw itself;
for Yahweh will be your everlasting light,
and the days of your mourning will end.
Then your people will all be righteous.
They will inherit the land forever,
the branch of My planting,
the work of My hands,
that I may be glorified.
