Today’s Prayer

When my heart empties its contents at the foot of the cross, the love of my Savior pours into the vacancy. When my soul is shattered by life in a broken world, the hope of eternity smooths the sharp edges of every jagged injury. You are worthy of all praise, Lord. You are the One who solves all mysteries. God, Your Word is the canopy that covers my confusion. Your light is the beacon that navigates the narrow road with truth so that I can step over the potholes of deception. Let me worship You not only in word and deed but in sincerity and devotion. Only You can take me higher than the horizon of selfish desire. Make me capable of releasing my wants upon Your altar so I can pick up Your sovereign will instead. Evil may pursue me but Your presence is my protection. Trouble may find me but You are my defender, Jesus. Your unfailing ways are my solace. Your salvation is my completion. You are and ever will be my hope and my purpose. Lead me, Jesus. Keep me. Shape me. Use me. I am holy Yours. Under the magnificence of Ephesians 3:20-21 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21, ESV
