What joy immeasurable is found in fellowship with You, my Savior and Lord. In Christ, belief is saturated with enjoyment that cannot be found in the commonality of life. There is abundant gladness in the works and blessings of God in Christ. There is substantial delight in the matchless person of the Lord Jesus. Let me drink of the wine which no earthly vineyard has produced. Let me partake of the bread which comes from a heavenly harvest. There is no sweetness of nourishment except as has been tasted in communion with Christ. The joys of this earth are empty husks compared to the heavenly manna of salvation. Lord, one mouthful of Your truth, one sip of Your presence, and my soul is replenished. This world of carnal delight is nothing but empty spiritual calories. Though the sparkle of temptation twinkles in my eye, I will search for the real diamond. I confess before You that my highest, truest, purest delight is found at the fount of Your salvation. No spring in this world yields such sweet water as the one consisting of the spring of life. Under the mighty assurance of the Word in John 4:14 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.
John 4:14, WEB
