Today’s Prayer

Though I was a stranger wandering far from the fold of God, Your love sang to me. When I spent my days and hours fulfilling the desires of the fleshly mind, Your truth called out to me. By Your love alone I was restrained from committing the unpardonable sin. Your hand of mercy held me back from self-destruction. When justice cried out for my punishment, it was Your pardon that stood between me and the executioner’s axe. Thank You for whisking me away to the wilderness where I could be stripped of all excess, laid bare of all my iniquity. It was Your love that offered to cover me, to protect my vulnerable estate as only a divine warrior could do. Your irrevocable love is my dearest treasure, Lord. Sins cleansed by Your sacrifice, I delighted to find the pollution in my soul not without remedy. Never shall my soul forget such grace unveiled. Lord Jesus, give me a hearty gulp of Your divine love today. Under the blessed assurance of the Word in Psalm 28:7 and the authority of Christ, I come to You in deep prayer, Lord Almighty.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.
Psalm 28:7, ESV
