Hush my silly, fluttering heart, Lord. Your sovereignty is my refuge when the tempest of worry blows across the landscape of my soul. Forgive me for the incessant prying and peeping as if I have a right to know exactly how You will choose to work in this circumstance. What I know now is sufficient because You have revealed it to me. Help me trust Your timing and release the binding leash of my own expectations. You know my soul’s reactions to these adversities. Let me not analyze Your methods when I am perfectly safe in Your loving hands. Lord, increase my faith as only Your Spirit is enabled to do. Your Word serves as my guide, not my own assumptions. It is enough for me to believe the goodness of Your intentions. I come to linger at Your feet so that I may be blessed in Your presence while the storm rages outside. Under the canopy of Psalm 46:1, 2 & 10 and Christ’s authority, I come before You in prayer, Lord Almighty.
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalm 46:1, 2 & 10, ESV

Lord, increase my faith as only Your Spirit is enabled to do–Amen!
