Today’s Prayer

Tender my heart to Your will, Lord God. Far too many distractions grieve Your perfectly accessible love. Stop me from indulging a foul imagination. Do not allow a wild desire to linger longer than a moment. The wind of temptation blows like an unforeseen tempest looking for debris to stir up in the unguarded heart. Reprove those habits which would turn my heart to stone. You have promised to give me a heart of flesh. One that is soft toward Your truth and desirous for Your glory. Deceptive notions are a great blister in my walk with You, Lord. Let truth quiver like a leaf when heaven’s breath blows on me from the pages of Your Word. Only You can bend my hardened will, Lord. When selfish desires dig their heels in my mind, Your authoritative Word knocks me loose. Hammer me into the form that most resembles You, Lord. Mold my iron-clad will by the continual touch of grace. Only with a reformed heart can I burn with affection for my Savior. Many are the privileges for the replenished heart. Only You can fit me for the spiritual blessings You have prepared for me. Let me yield the heavenly fruit to the glory of Your Name. Give me lips to honor and praise You. Under the banner of beautiful truth in Ezekiel 36:25-27 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Ezekiel 36:25-27, ESV
