Let me approach the altar of my God with reverence and holiness that only comes from a Spirit cleansed by confession. Lord Jesus, You are my Savior and Redeemer. I bow to no other gods before You. The essence of joy manifested is the sustaining power of Your Spirit. You are the fullness that my deepest longings crave. My delight is reserved for You alone. My prayers are the intimate secrets of the soul that only You have access to. May my praise be everlasting and my heart brimming with gratitude for Your salvation and truth. Rein me in when I find myself seeking pleasure in the trifling vanity of this world. In worshipping You, my emptiness is filled. Your incomprehensible majesty strums the cords of my heart. Keep my mind tethered to good thoughts. Pull me away from all temptation and defiling ponderings. I long to worship You in Spirit and truth. Prepare me for the days to come, Lord. Teach me how to apply what You have said. Help me set aside my actions for Your consideration. Put me under the yoke that is Yours. The one that is light and whose burden I do not bear alone. When the shadows of misery darken my countenance, let me be lifted by the light of Your presence. You are the God of truth. You are my Savior. Under the sweet and solid reminder in Philippians 4:8 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
