Today’s Prayer

Offering my splintered heart to Your healing hands is the wisest action of my life, Lord God. Though I dare to guess it is not much worth having, You accepted it anyway, making it Your own. With a longing gaze of desired perfection, the arms of my soul reach toward Your Word. Let me pull on the holiness tucked within. I never grow weary of Your great works. Empty the defiling contents so that I might be filled with more substantial things than vanity. Employ me in Kingdom service that transforms me into Your likeness and brings glory to Your Name. Keep me from weariness in good works. Forgive my impatience with daily living as the circumstances of life pose distractions in my pursuit of You. Grant me a contentment that steps back and recognizes the way You weave it all together into something good in Your own time. Only Your Spirit can quicken my full senses. Only Your presence can anchor me to the divine in the midst of reality. Call my soul to Yourself, Lord, and seal my heart by Your Name alone. Under the majesty of the Word in Jeremiah 32:17-18 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.

Oh, Lord God! Behold, You Yourself have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You, who shows mercy to thousands, but repays the wrongdoing of fathers into the laps of their children after them, great and mighty God. The Lord of armies is His Name.
Jeremiah 32:17-18, NASB
