Dispel the clouds that hide Your truth from my heart, Lord God. Draw forth the potential of my soul by leading me to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit. Pull me toward Your holy affections like sunshine warming a cold winter day. Only You can thaw the prejudices of my heart, Lord God. With sincerity, I can honestly affirm my deepest longing is reconciliation with You. Remind me of the blessed comfort that confession brings and the glorious revelations available in the solitude of prayer. Such habits make beautiful moments out of ordinary, mundane living. Your mercy is unmatched, Lord. Your grace is beyond mortal comprehension. Let me never dare to keep my eyes from You. I endeavor to give you both sincere and hearty responses to Your commands. Instruct me in the way that leads me back to You. Build me up when I have fallen to pieces. Take me down when I have become too high and mighty. Your way is not my way because Your way is best. Let the canopy of Your magnificence cover me. Let the blanket of your compassion warm me from the inside out. You are holy good. Under the blessing of the Word in Isaiah 48:17-18 and the authority of Jesus, I come to the altar in prayer.

This is what the Lord says—
    your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
    who teaches you what is best for you,
    who directs you in the way you should go.
If only you had paid attention to My commands,
    your peace would have been like a river,
    your well-being like the waves of the sea.”
