Father God, You are truly good and holy worthy. There is none like You in all the universe. May I resist the urge to bow before other idols. My story cannot be written by any other hand except Yours if I am expecting a happy ending. Whatever You enrich me with in the way of talent Lord, let me use it for Kingdom purposes. Only You can take a soul that approaches the throne in shambles and put it to good use. Let me do my best with the gifts and blessings You have bestowed. Enhance my abilities so that I may glorify Your Name. Make the best use of my time so that I am shaped into Your likeness. Let me not hold tightly to my possessions but freely offer what has been offered to me. Expand my influence for Kingdom impact, Lord. Where once there was barren wilderness, let there now be a fruitful field ready for harvest. My adoration does not falter in times of adversity, Lord. It is in the storm that I am made acutely aware of Your ardent affection. Hush the enemy whispers until the only thing I hear is Your still, small voice. Under the mighty blessing of the Word set down in 1 Kings 19:11-12 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
