Holy God, our righteous King, show tenderness and compassion to me in my time of need. Silence the voice of the enemy that shouts condemnation in the face of my failures. For I know that You purpose all things for my good because I deeply love You, Lord. Let me be reminded that I belong to You and that my heart is spoken for. For You chose me before the beginning of time. You selected me to walk in the ways of truth so that this world might be saved from darkness. Therefore, the voice of the enemy need not have power over me. There is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I am the sheep of Your pasture where unfailing love is harvested. It is only Your voice that quickens the spirit inside me for You are my Good Shepherd who leads me to quiet meadows of peace and tranquility even when the world around me is chaotic and noisy. There is such beauty as the blossom of Your grace unfolds, leaving a sweet fragrance of freedom over my life -freedom from slavery to sin, freedom from selfish indulgence, and freedom from condemnation. Lord, vanquish the flaming arrows of lies that are being lobbed at my heart for I trust in You; I submit to You; I hold to You under the armor of love. I place my failures upon Your altar so that I can continue to be shaped in the midst of weakness. Under the blessed reminder in Your Word of truth, Romans 8:1-2 and the authority of Christ Jesus, these prayers are submitted to the Lord of Lords, God of my heart.
With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.
