Today’s Prayer

Father God, the holy one whom I adore, lift me up to gain the perspective I need to overcome the disillusionment of my soul. Yours alone is the glory. Part the clouds before the eyes of my heart as You keep me protected beneath the umbrella of Your authority. When the storm rolls into my spirit, let me call upon Your Name. Keep my eyes above the waves when the tide of adversity rises. You have called me to “put on Christ” amid the storm, Lord. For it is His voice alone that can calm the chaos of my soul. Forgive my forgetfulness as I linger in the territory of deceit which tempts me to find satisfaction in things contrary to You. Forgive Your beloved for hiding behind a façade, for defining myself by what I do, for dressing as if I could earn favor through outward appearance. Help me to seek You and only You, my one and only Savior. Your forgiveness dresses me in robes of righteousness. Let me be willing to clothe my soul with mercy and boldness for the truth. Let the pursuit of holy justice and compassionate sympathy reflective of Your heart be my garments. Above all, enable me to choose love as my adornment so that I can radiate the imperishable beauty of putting on Christ. May all who see me, Lord, actually see You in me. Under the majestic truth of Romans 13:14 and the authority of Christ Jesus, these prayers are my daily offering.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Romans 13:14, ESV
