Vindication sought outside Your will thwarts integrity, Lord. Let it be said of my soul that I have sought to walk in Your ways and follow the path You have set before me. May my steps be ones that leave footprints of trust and faith. Only You can test my heart and mind to prove that which does not belong in the place reserved for Your sovereignty. Keep Your steadfast love as a beacon on the dark path so that my journey is one of undistracted faith. Keep me mindful of the company I keep, Lord. Let me not become a hypocrite by focusing on others more than I focus on my own inner failings. Where there is falsehood, let me seek truth. Where there is evil, let me turn around and run away into the stronghold of Your goodness. Wash me in the innocence of Your salvation and let me praise You with thanksgiving for all You have done that I could not do myself. Your deeds are wonderful, Lord. Your glory resonates in the structure of Your house. Spirit, do not sweep me away with sinners. Have mercy on my wayward heart. There are evil devices in the world and adverse circumstances. Yet I will not fear because You have overcome the world. You have illuminated the path of integrity through steps of faith. Keep the ground level and hold me up when I fall. Under the beauty of the Word in Psalm 28:1-2 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
To You, Lord, I call;
You are my Rock,
do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if You remain silent,
I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Hear my cry for mercy
as I call to You for help,
as I lift up my hands
toward Your Most Holy Place.
Psalm 28:1-2, NIV
