My poverty-stricken soul delights in the riches of Your inheritance, Jesus. My weaknesses are many, but there is strength when I trust in You. Truly, my portion has pleasant boundaries because it rests in Your promises. I come out from behind the shadows of a guilty conscience to find refuge in the intercession You offer me. Though the enemy’s accusations taint me, I find peace when I fully abide in You. Secure in Your love, I trust in the righteousness and mercy of my Savior. Let me not be ashamed or confounded when I come to You. Because of the salvation offered from the cross, this world no longer has a hold on me. Death can lay no claim on my soul. Place Your seal upon my heart. I take Your Name into my spirit. Weave gospel truth in and out of the smallest aspect of my life circumstances. Only Your truth can vanquish the shame. Only Your grace can heal the wounds left open in the soul. Engrave the deepest revelation in the stone of my spirit until I am clay in Your hands. The fruit of Your Spirit is the abundance of a life of faith. Teach me how to live that life and walk that path. Turn my pursuits into holy journeys, God. I look for You in all things. Under the blessed truth in Your Word set down in Psalm 16:5-6 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
You hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
Psalm 16:5-6, ESV
