Today’s Prayer

The very essence of my being exalts the one true God. He has been so kind to me. Let my lips praise the Lord Almighty. He saw the wretched estate of my soul and looked at me with compassion that extended the hand of grace. Truly, my soul would not rejoice if the Lord had not been good to me. God Almighty is set apart with a holiness I can only touch in prayer. There is no other besides Him who is worthy of the love He awakens. Slay my pride. Extinguish all vanity. Let me come before the Lord in humble adoration. Whatever I know has been given from above. There is nothing hidden from the eyes of the King. When my actions are weighed and my words examined, let me not be crushed by the heaviness of my faults and the folly of my words. Though I am broken, You mend me, Lord. Though I am feeble, You supply strength for my needs. The thirst of my soul is soaked by Your truth. The hunger of my heart is satisfied by Your forgiveness. Truly, there is none like the Lord, my God. Under the banner of the Word in Isaiah 49:8-10 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Thus says the Lord:
“In a time of favor I have answered you;
    in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you and give you
    as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
    to apportion the desolate heritages,
saying to the prisoners, ‘Come out,’
    to those who are in darkness, ‘Appear.’
They shall feed along the ways;
    on all bare heights shall be their pasture;
they shall not hunger or thirst,
    neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them,
for he who has pity on them will lead them,
    and by springs of water will guide them.”
Isaiah 49:8-10, ESV
