Today’s Prayer

Father in heaven, when the times I live in become unprecedented and difficult to decipher, let me draw near to You who holds all time and history in Your mighty hands. The distractions and frustrations of misunderstanding the signs of the times create confusion in my soul which opens the door to deception. Let me not seek relief at the cost of Your refining purpose for all circumstances in my life. Empower Your beloved with the Holy Spirit so that I can serve Your Kingdom with spiritual relevance even in a culture that has disengaged from Your church. Open up new ways, Lord, to communicate the gospel. Make my heart open to the challenge of following You into new territory. Help me to recognize the hurting, the straying, and those who are lost because I know You want all who belong to You to be brought back into the fold of Your truth. Remind me when I lose heart that You have overcome the world. You have blessed Your chosen servants by expanding new horizons of ministry that reach into areas not previously entered into. Help me to guard that ground which You have gained in these times, Lord. Equip me to think with a heavenly perspective that is not boxed in by tradition. Above all, grant me a willing heart to follow where Your Spirit prompts me to go. Under the Word found in John 16:31-33 and the authority of Christ, I humbly pray.

Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”
