Today’s Prayer

Lord, bring forth fruit to the glory of Your Name. Keep my hope joyful in Your promises in this barren season. When prayer is lifeless, You are the light of my life. Where love has grown cold, the fire of Your presence warms me. When faith is weak, Your Word is my strength. Lord, by Your grace, let not the garden of my soul be filled with plants that languish and droop. My heart is a flower under the scorching sun. I am in need of replenishing rain. In times such as this, I come to You in parched prayer. Let me sing of my thirst because I know that You promise to quench it. Bring to my remembrance Your prior faithfulness. Let me recount Your goodness in days gone by. Magnify the love with which You cared for Your people by extending salvation from the cross. Though my soul is heavy-laden, such ruminations lighten the load. I bring You my barrenness, Lord. I delightfully anticipate Your fruit-making power in my life. With confidence, my heart remains faithful, trusting in You as my redeemer. Put clusters in my life that I could not imagine. Make fertile the soil within me. Weeping may come for a night. Joy will come in the morning. Let it rain, Lord Jesus. Let it rain. Under the protective canopy of the Word in Psalm 30:5 and the authority of Christ, I bow in abiding prayer.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5, NASB
