My need for divine guidance is ever before me, Lord. Daily, I am confronted by the foolishness of my own heart. Only Your presence can set the boundaries that will keep me from straying into enemy territory. Let me resolve to seek Your counsel in prayer, Lord. The first step in wisdom’s direction is acknowledging my own folly. Lead me to rely more on You and less on me. I give my thoughts, my words, my actions implicitly to You, Lord. I do not doubt how safe I am when I am with You. To know I belong under the canopy of Your Name is a blessed expression of grace. You are my counselor and my guide. You are my promise maker and covenant keeper. Your Word is proof that Your divine guidance is always available to those who seek it. Direct my ways step by step. Your Word is a map of destiny, a path of life, a journey of truth. Keep me away from the quicksand of destruction. Reveal the way to the haven of salvation. You are my portion. Though I wander, You call me back to the right way. Though I err, You cover me with grace. Though I stray, You take me back with open arms. My heart is a perplexing mystery, Lord. Let me trust that it can be solved only by You. I come for divine counsel. I seek wisdom in prayer. Under the mighty counsel of the Lord in Proverbs 16:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

To humans belong the plans of the heart,
    but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.
