Today’s Prayer

I bow to the authority of my God and King. Trusting in Your providence Lord, I take refuge beneath Your sovereignty. No matter the severity of the trial, I embrace the opportunity to learn from it because I know that You have sifted it through Your hands. Let the soldiers of adversity march forth, clad in the armor of deception that dares to tempt me with emotions disbelieving God’s love. Though God’s mercy might carry thorns, let me not doubt the intensity of His love. Many a soul can drown in the rising waters of prosperity as readily as in the rising tide of affliction. Are mountains too high or has the Lord put them on the path to test the depth of faith? Is the valley too low or has the Lord required hope to rise out of the pit? Though I am besotted with danger, my heart is at peace because the Lord is my God. No deluge is allowed out of the circumstantial sky unless the Lord first touches the clouds. Give me the strength to illustrate the power of Your grace by my responses. Test the genuineness of my virtue so that I am more like Christ. Your wisdom is infinite, Lord. Your love is abundant. Only You know what is needed to strengthen faith. Root me well in You, Lord Jesus. Tighten the joints of holy valor. Enhance the muscles of sacred belief. Grow my heart and soul toward You in whatever way You deem necessary. Under the rock of the Word in Psalm 46:1-4 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

God is our refuge and strength,
A very ready help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth shakes
And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
There is a river whose streams make the city of God happy,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
Psalm 46:1-4, NASB
