Today’s Prayer

Aid me in maneuvering through an ungodly culture, Lord. Prevent me from feeling measures of self-pity that hinder any spiritual progress. You did not pray for Your servants to be removed from this world but to serve it. Strengthen me to overcome the difficulties. You have designed me to glorify You, Lord. Let the enemy not detect inconsistencies in my conduct. Through Your Spirit, make me holy. Keep me mindful of the truth that everything I do is reflecting You. I strive to give no reason for stumbling. Make Your goodness shine through every aspect of my life. Lord, make me useful and consistent in my dealings with the less fortunate. Only You can turn a crooked path straight, Lord. I am weary of the strife that comes on the heels of sin. With gratitude, I ponder the depths of Your forgiveness. Let me not strive to understand the infinite but seek to extend love as far as I am able. Where intelligence fails me, let affection fill the gap. I am desirous of improvement, Lord. Show me how better to reflect Your heart, Jesus. Under the message of the Word in John 13:34-35 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35, NIV
