Lord, do not let the connection be severed by my foolish inclinations. The only fruit I want to produce is that which comes from abiding in the vine. Let me drink from the root of Your Word, Lord. Let Your promises flow through the stem of my heart. Make truth flow through the sap in my soul until every thought is taken captive to Your will. Turn my works into something good and worthy of the Kingdom. Lord, I treasure the abiding union I have with You. Apart from You, there is no possibility of making fruit. Keep me from becoming barren and useless, Lord. Your Spirit is the source of life that replenishes the dry, withered state of my soul. Your spiritual power reaches across time from the shadows of the cross. Toss the light of heaven over the shadows of my life. Quicken me with efficacious worship. Teach me in a way that leads to wisdom. Console me so that the weeds of discouragement do not clog the garden of my soul. My virtue is Yours to shape and hold, Lord. Prune what You must. Fertilize that which will prove productive. Take every fragrant blossom of ministry as a testimony to Your glory. Under the magnificence of the Word in John 15:5 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.”
John 15:5, HCSB
