Today’s Prayer

Keep my steps carefully holy before You, Lord God. Shield my heart from the ravages of the bitter enmity of this world. Despite my thousand and one faults, You have forgiven me. Though my offense toward You was not trivial, You took my punishment upon Yourself. I regret the vanity that has captivated my heart. Rid me of the disease of pride. Capture my motivations until they are aligned with Your will and purpose. Do not let me be careless in my approach to Your heart. Guard my mouth from idle gossip disguised as prayer. Shape me into authentic posturing. Let it not be said of me that I am a hypocrite. Truly, I take heed of Your Word and Your ways. Devotedly, I desire to honor You and glorify Your Name. Keep me from becoming a stumbling block by actions that are contrary to Your Kingdom purpose. Wherever I am too rigid, make me malleable, Lord. Wherever I am too soft, clarify the boundaries. Though my intentions may be misrepresented and my deeds censured, as long as I am right with You nothing else matters. As I travel the long road, Lord, keep me walking firmly on holy ground. Under the sweet and abundant assurance of Your Word in Psalm 142:3 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

When my spirit grows faint within me,
it is You who watch over my way.
Psalm 142:3, NIV
