The pool of my heart is in need of Your cleansing, Lord God. Wade into the murky waters and rid me of the defiling traits that are not worthy of Your Kingdom. Ease me out from beneath the burden of guilt that I have carried for too long. Your love is my solace. Connect my mind and body to the magnificent thread of truth that has the power to transform darkness to light. As Your commandments take hold of me, keep me from turning away. Give me strength to embrace the conviction until my soul is repentant. Though the sum of my debt against You is endless, Your forgiveness knows no bounds. I am eternally grateful for Your blessed pardon. Truly, the good news of the cross brings sweet relief to the pain wrought by conviction. There is only one remedy that can truly heal the soul and that is embracing You in faith and belief. Keep me on the narrow road away from any temptation to assault Your dignity by the way I act. I look to You for courage to keep going when there is a mountain in my way. Grant me perseverance to remain on this path of life. I would rather not walk at all than walk without You, Lord Jesus. In the mighty glow of Scripture set down in Ephesians 5:1-2 and the authority of Christ my Savior, I bow in prayer.

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
