How wonderfully amazing it is that You would stoop so low as to search out a rebel like me, Lord God. Even the tongues of angels cannot describe the enormity of a love that is holy undefined and blameless. You took the form of a servant. Your relentless pursuit broke the barriers of pride. Though transgressions had been committed against You, it didn’t damage the power of Your grace. Your willingness to receive the unworthy is a marvel to behold. Let me never take salvation for granted or grow accustomed to the passion of the cross. Only You could pardon sin. Only You could justify the unrighteous. Only You could transform the heart. Your Word is all powerful. Your mercy is boundless. Your sacrifice is the preservation of life to my soul. Enable me to serve You well, Lord. Be the inspiration that motivates love in all my actions. Receive me into Your heart and let me continually explore the depths of love that challenge my human ability to understand. Keep me as close as a jewel in Your crown, Lord Jesus. Only Your hand can pluck me from the burning fires and preserve me as a costly symbol of Your grace. Under the beauty of the Word set down in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
