Lord Almighty, Your goodness is preservation for my soul. Your pardon is my refuge. By the power of Your Spirit, make my repentance genuine and long-lasting. The cloudy, murky waters of deception make it difficult for me to resist temptation. Lord, You know my heart better than I do. Let me not succumb to that which You have specifically prohibited. I trust in Your Word and ordinances. Though my achievements fall short of holiness, let me aim for it, nonetheless. Where my heart has been damaged is the place You do Your best work. Reach Your arm into the pit where my soul plunges into an abyss of selfishness. Let Your Word not be nullified in my heart as I contemplate desires that demand attention. Your Spirit overwhelms me with the power to resist temptation. Your goodness is my rock. Hold me steady in the storm of emotions brought on by unsavory circumstances and unexpected trials. My success is dependent on You. Increase my faith, Lord. Pull me beneath the canopy of Your righteousness. I am in need of a Savior. The mystery of Your grace is astonishing to behold. No matter what happens, my soul is at peace because it belongs to You. Under the gracious canopy of Your Word in Psalm 119:27-30 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Cause me to understand the way of Your precepts,
    that I may meditate on Your wonderful deeds.
My soul is weary with sorrow;
    strengthen me according to Your Word.
Keep me from deceitful ways;
    be gracious to me and teach me Your law.
I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    I have set my heart on Your laws.
