Lord Almighty, let nothing separate me from awareness of Your holy presence. Such a separation would cause my heart a bitter grief that would poison my soul with despair. Make Your glory visible in my daily life. Your Word is the moisture that softens the parched soil of my heart, Jesus. There is no remedy for my soul malady except that which You offer. What a glorious privilege it is to relieve the pressure inside of me by coming to You with a heart of confession. Under the burden of silence, secrets only fester and cause a crippling to my faith. Let me not entertain such folly when Your throne of grace is approachable for those who sincerely call on Your Name. Let my thoughts not be diverted from You, Lord God. Keep excuses from blinding me to the path of righteousness for Your Name’s sake. There is a promise of relief when my spirit is tormented within me. Though anguish gathers like storm clouds, it is the forgiveness of Your love that blows it away. Truly, You lead me beside still waters where there is complete rest. Your all-seeing ways become a refuge that vanquishes fear. You not only know what I have done, You know what has been done to me. I rest in Your justice. I curl up under the blanket of Your vindication. Lord, let me never forget just how near You are. Under the mighty power of the Word in Psalm 27:13-14 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living!
