Lord, keep me mindful of my walk of faith as well as the faithfulness of my life. Grant Your servant a worthy understanding of the theology of grace and mercy. I loathe the thought of misunderstanding Your intentions to the point of abusing them in ignorance. Make devotion a vital point in my habit of abiding in You. Authentic godliness is the only pathway to true faith. May the roots of my life reach deep into the righteousness of my Savior. Only then will the fruit of holiness burst forth from the faithful vine. To live faithful is to live holy. Let me remember not to separate the two. One cannot be sought without the other. Forbid me to cultivate faithfulness that lacks authenticity. Such a pursuit deserves the deepest condemnation reserved for those You once deemed hypocrites. Truth cannot be held in unrighteous fingers. The glory of Your Spirit resided in the depth of a faithful heart. Open such a space inside of me, Lord Jesus, as I dwell on the magnificent grace of salvation. Under the steady assurance of the Word in Psalm 26:2-4 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Test me, Lord, and try me,
    examine my heart and my mind;
for I have always been mindful of Your unfailing love
