When I am overwhelmed in heart and turned upside down by the revelation of Your Word, submerge me with a desire for repentance, Lord God. Your truth alone can help me discover the inward corruption that keeps me separated from You. Permit me to explore the great depth of depravity until I am troubled enough by the mire and dirt in my soul that I will do something about it. Lord, though I am assailed with disappointment and heartbreak, You can make good use of the pain. Let me be broken if it will bring me closer to You. You are my all sufficient solace and my source of rest when my soul is chaotic. Your love is so much higher than my current perception of the emotion. Let me not limit love to the confines of human feelings when You have shown that it is so much more. Forgive me for putting my trust in anything except You. When my troubled mind confuses me to the point of seeking answers anywhere else but in Your Word, pull me back inside the boundaries of truth. Direct me wisely, Lord. Empty the contents of my heart and fill me with all things righteous. Under the blessing of the Word in Job 42:5-6 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.
