Thank You, Lord, for the covering of grace that allows me to come to You despite my horrible past. Though I have sought many other refuges, none has offered the peace You impart. You are God and there is no other. By Your power, dismantle my heart’s secret idols. Trample down the longings that easily snare me with temptation. Set Your ivory throne upon my heart until there is room for nothing else. My soul submits to Your plan and forsakes my selfish ambitions. Captivate my thoughts so that I think of little else besides Your glory. Remind me that there is no joy or solace outside of Your presence. Though my heart is prone to wander, let it never depart from You, Lord God. Bind me to Yourself through the covenant I have with Your Holy Spirit. Put me in the cleft of the rock where truth abides and keep me firmly in place there even when extenuating circumstances threaten the peace around me. I delight to be fully and holy Yours. Under the blessedness of the Word in Psalm 86:5-7 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
