Today’s Prayer

In the sweetest of divine affection, I place my head on the pillow of adversity knowing that I am beloved of the Lord. My soul, do not take lightly the display of love upon the cross. Despite the whispered accusation dripping off the devil’s tongue or the doubtful rebukes of personal insecurities, it was never about my worth but the worthiness of my holy God. He who did not spare His own Son but gave him up for all, freely gives all things. There is nothing greater than a Father’s love. Let me live in the sweet influence of such divine privilege. Let my sense of unworthiness grow because it only increases the evidence that the Lord’s unfathomable love saved my soul. There was nothing I did to deserve it. When my path grows rough with trouble, the Lord smooths it with mercies unspoken. Rest, my soul, in the super-abounding love of God. Under the blessed canopy of Romans 8:38-39 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39, NIV
