Father in heaven whose Name is to be praised above every name, let Your pre-eminence be made known in my life. Humble me, Lord God, so that pride does not root itself in my soul, causing me to stray into the territory of selfishness. Set Your angels around me as I enter into territory that is unfamiliar with looming challenges and unforeseen pitfalls. I am in need of the armor of Your presence not only around my soul but especially around my heart. My heart tends to be the gatekeeper of my thoughts. Let it be shut against the deceit with which the enemy pries it open, Lord. Invigorate me with truth in order that my soul is fully stabilized in Your Sovereignty. Though the season in front of me is new ground for me, it is familiar territory for You, Jesus. Show me the way and I will follow. Give me a fresh word to be my anchor in the year ahead. Under the message of Your Word in John 12:26 and the authority of Christ Jesus, these prayers are laid at Your feet, O God.
If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:26, ESV
