Arouse my sluggish soul as only You can, Lord God. Stoke the fires of abiding love within me. Beckon me to leave the territory of indifference where my heart languishes and my soul has no choice but to falter. I am utterly weary of the deadness within me, Lord. Awaken my senses to the greatness of salvation I have in You, Jesus. Pour out Your grace even through frigid waters of discipline if it will wake up the sleeper inside of me. Though I cannot recall how I wandered into the barren space, Lord, You know the way out. Jesus, I delight to anticipate Your rescue. Your consolation is the sweet refuge that arouses my first love. Empower me with it once again so that the delicate perfume of faith, joy, hope, and peace become the fragrance of my devotion to You. Under the Word of truth in Ephesians 2:4-6 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love
with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him
in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
